Transam Carriers News: Quote Adjustments and Options for Better Service

Change of transportation quotes

One of the main challenges faced by the trucking industry is the fluctuations in fuel costs. In the past two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has been the main culprit for the instability in fuel costs. However, today, the instability of the political situation in the world significantly affects all sectors of the economy.

The current market conditions have led to soaring oil prices for the trucking industry. Besides that, it also suffers from driver and equipment shortages. Nowadays, we are experiencing the highest increase in oil prices since 2008. Also, regular gas prices in Canada have increased by 25% since the year began. Experts predict that these numbers will continue rising. If this trend continues, transportation companies will be unable to absorb the high fuel price, and they’ll have to readjust the charges for their services. Most have already added or increased fuel surcharges to deal with the changing situation.

Due to this rise in fuel costs and instability in market conditions, Transam Carriers will now only issue transportation quotes for a full week, Monday to Friday. Please bear with us as we strive to provide you with the best transportation services.

Better and efficient services

Sure, the rising cost of fuel and changes in the marketing conditions are not things to smile about. However, our clients still have a reason to be happy. We are excited to announce that we will be offering better services now that the COVID restrictions have been lifted. Since many people have been vaccinated and things are slowly returning to normal, Canada’s government is lifting the restrictions.

Ontario, for instance, has lifted the mandatory wearing of masks as of March 2021. But please note that this isn’t in all areas. The state says that mandatory masking will continue in retirement and long-term homes, health care settings, public transit, and congregate care and living settings. But the good news is that this is only until April 27, 2022. Some places have also removed mandatory screening, and others have reduced routine testing.

So, this will allow the trucking industry to offer better and faster services. Our transportation company will operate efficiently now that there are no lockdown measures. Consumers will get a steady supply of products from the manufacturers since our drivers can freely move from one point to another without worrying about breaking the law.

Additionally, while COVID-19 screening and testing were effective, they were time-consuming. Truck drivers had to stop to be screened or get the testing done, which affected the delivery times. But now that these are not mandatory, you can expect your fleet to arrive at the estimated delivery time.

Lastly, wearing masks helped slow the COVID-19 infections. However, this wasn’t something that many of us were used to. So many people were uncomfortable having them most times. This wasn’t different for truck drivers. But note that when these drivers are uncomfortable, it reduces their productivity which also affects the shipments in one way or another. However, since it’s no longer a must to wear them, they can breathe well and remain productive when transporting the load, meaning that the consumer will also be happy with the efficient delivery.

Building the company. Building a healthy community.

In other company’s news, we are happy to announce that our logo board made with screws is finally finished. We started it as a fundraising campaign in 2019 to help raise funds for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. However, we had to suspend the initiative due to the pandemic. But today, we are glad to inform our valuable customers that we have finished the campaign thanks to our truck drivers, friends, and Transam Carriers management, who have helped us donate $552 CAD to this foundation. We hope to encourage more people through this small act of kindness. While building the company, we also strive to build a healthy community!
